A Gathering of Friends. A Celebration of the Life of Teresa Linkous
03/12/2016 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Teresa Linkous: Remembering & celebrating a life filled with “big love”
We are gathering to celebrate the life and the love that Teresa brought to the world. As she moved through the world in her own unique way, she loved deeply and without reservation or judgement. Her unexpected passing leaves so many with a huge void in their lives. Teresa would want us to fill that for each other with kindness, love, smiles, and laughter. With love and light, join her friends and family to remember this special lady.
Teresa Ann Linkous transitioned from this world on Saturday, March 5, 2016. Despite the heroic efforts of many, she succumbed to complications from an acute asthma attack. In her final hours she received dedicated, loving, and outstanding care while surrounded by her friends and family.
Born in Bristol, Tennessee she spent her youth in Grundy, Virginia and often visited the ancestral town of Louisa, Kentucky. In childhood, she was known to her relatives and friends as “Tee Cee” and “Trixie” in addition to her given name. She went on to live in Lexington, Kentucky, Los Angeles, California, Richmond and Bremo Bluff, Virginia, Hayesville, North Carolina, and finally settling in Harmony, Pennsylvania in 2011. With her contagious smile mated to a positive and sparkling personality, she blossomed wherever she was planted creating a wide network of friends and loved ones who are greatly missing her presence.
She survived her mother, Jannie Lynn Merritt, father Jerry L. Merritt, and husband of 19 years, Mark Linkous. She is survived by her brother, Kevin, sister in-law Pamela, and her beloved niece, Phoebe, living in Arlington, Virginia.
Teresa’s compassion and joy was without limit. She was a tireless and dedicated animal lover in addition to being an avid equestrian serving most recently as a certified trainer and professional with the Search and Rescue and Mounted Units. A uniquely original and creative spirit she touched everyone that she met in a positive way. Because of this, her impact is felt far and wide.
Friends and family are invited to honor her incredible spirit and capacity for love on Saturday March 12th at 7pm at The Center of Harmony, 253 Mercer St, Harmony, PA 16037.
Another gathering is being planned for the near future in Richmond, Virginia. Details will be made available soon.
Teresa always put others first and continues to do so as her wishes to share the last of her body to help others through the advancement of science were graciously honored by the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE.org). Her passing provided her the opportunity to save the lives of four souls with her strong and perfect heart, liver, and kidneys.
For out of town guests, Pittsburgh International Airport is the closest airport.
A block of rooms are reserved at the Pittsburgh Marriott North, under “Teresa Linkous Friends” 724-772-3700 Shuttle Service between the hotel and gathering will be available.
